Find Ancestors

I am trying to find any information available on the children of Robert John Crooks born 1887 Talbot Victoria and died August 1964. He married Sarah Buchanan born 1868 in Maryborough Victoria, in 1890 I think. I know they ha one child at least named Doris Jean Crooks born 1893 in Maryborough Victoria. I found Doris in a 1924 census and she was living with Rolien John Crooks and sara Crooks - these may be her siblings I don't knoow.

I have been unable to find any other information on any of the children or marriage/death of Doris.

I am hoping someone can help me please

According to this notice on NLA Trove, Doris married a Mr Smith -

The Argus, Wednesday 23 October 1935
WILLS AND ESTATES
Robert John Crooks, retired grazier, of Devon street, Caulfield, formerly of Mitford street, St Kilda, who died on August 17, left by will dated August 29, 1934, real estate of a gross value of £1 534 and personal property of a gross value of £3 828 to Doris Jean Smith of Wando grove, East St Kilda.

Doris Jean CROOKS married Frank Hyland Stewart SMITH in 1927 in Victoria (reg 9152).

No deaths found in Victoria to 1985, though they are in Vic in electoral rolls up to 1937.

I definitely mean you are all wonderful people to be able to find all of this!!

I am unsure what her birth date should actually be because her father would have only been about 11 yrs old when he had her so she was probably born later than 1897. That part just didn't add up but everything I looked up said when they were born so I just put down those dates knowing something was wrong somewhere.

just realised there are 2 Robert John Crooks -
one born to John Craig Crooks and Catherine Anderson (this is the one I was after born 1887 Talbot who I thought were the parents of Doris Jean Crooks. Maybe it was Robert John Crooks that was the son of John Ellice Crooks and Emma Dinah reynolds? I am now confused!

thanks so much yet again. My mums family is more than complicated! I will contact Orange see what I can find and then get back to you if I need any more help. I have lots of avenues to keep me occupied for a while now.

Re John Craig that married Catherine Anderson - He actually took his step fathers name which was Crooks and went by the name of John Craig Crooks so that is why his children are named Crooks and not Craig. Just so we get even more confused!
