hi ozibird, I found a marriage for sarah jane baker to joseph pugh in march 1884 perhaps the sarah who married enoch was a relative of joseph but on all the cencus's jane was down as jane and not sarah jane
but as you can see from 1911 she was definatley name pugh i will have to get mary's marriage cert to find out her fathers name then i will know who jane married

According to 1911 census, Jane Pugh is married, ( for 40 years) it doesn't say widowed.

that means she would have been married really young and on cencus she is at the home of enoch price and no husband in sight don't think i'm going to get to the bottom of this

??? Wild one. The EDIT Wood children are said to be brother and sister in law of William. Could be children of Jane who may have married prior to marriage to William.

I know that Jacqueline. Just thought Jane may have squeezed in a marriage before William Pugh and the Wood children were hers not the in laws.

The 1911 rcord says she had been married for 40 years ie when she was aged 15. Or perhaps too far fetched to fit! Need the marriage cert as you say.

thanks vera if it doesn't say widowed it couldn't have been joseph as he was dead by then i can not find a marriage for jane baker at all

did think jane and edward were twins but can not find a birth so don't know if she was registered as jane or sarah jane

ok got certifcates now joseph was sarah janes husband he died in 1896 so she should have been widowed on 1911 cencus.
the only cencus that jane and joseph are together on is 1881
on 1891 and 1901 she is at the home of enoch price and on 1891 joe is at home with a load of kids but where are they in 1901 after he had died?
any help much appriecated
