Hi Barbara
That is the right family as Ernest was my dad. Actually born September 1910.
I can remember a woman that was a theatre sister in Darlington hospital that mum talked about that I think might be Annies daughter but can't think of her name. . If you can find some names for me maybe it might ring a bel
Thanks a lot
Barbara x
Just found a Mavis Hogarth born Weardale 1934. As soon as I saw it I knew that was the nurse as I remembered she lived that way. Can find a Doris but not sure if she is Annies

Barbara

You have several threads running regarding the Bott family. You began another thread today. If you read the guidelines above it is recommended that you stick to one thread per family. It is much easier for the researchers if all of the information is kept in one place so they know what has been found before.Your thread will come to the top of the page when you ask a new question so it doesn't matter how long it has been dormant.

You are welcome, Barbara,
Sorry to keep saying it, but you really do need her birth cert. to be sure.

I can only see one Agnes Pickering born about the right time--but she was born in Preston and can be accounted for on the census, so hopefully we have the right one

On her birth, marriage and Death index she is "Anastasia" so maybe "Agnes" is just a family name for her. (which she then passed onto her daughter Anastasia Agnes Bott. )

Have you seen her death index ? Bless her 102 !!

Hi Barbara from Yorkshire
You have the right family and thanks very much.
The person I know who has Anastasia on his tree with the wrong mother has her as Anastasia Agnes and he has agreed she is not part of his family. That he made a mistake
I shall add the info about Samuel and wife etc to my tree.
Thankyou so much
Best wishes Barbara

Hi Barbara
I couldn't find "Anastasia" in 1891 census ---but then when I looked for Jonathan and Margaret I found this, I think Anastasia is called Agnes on this census (I will post the 1911 census later for Anastasia and her husband to show why I think this is the right one, but of course without her birth cert. I can't be certain)

Hi Barbara,
I think the only way to be certain is to send for Anastasias birth cert, I was just wondering though why Jonathan and Margaret would marry in Newcastle--They were living in Tudhoe in 1881. Have you any idea if the occ is right for your Jonathan ? ( a Butcher )

I'll take another look Barbara

I thought Jonathan's wife was Margaret Knaggs but could only find one birth of an Anastasia in any year anywhere in the country and it was Tudhoe in 1880 but another person has the wife of Jonathan as Mary Ogleby on his tree.
