you ladies are sooo nice and doing a fab job...
this is the only information i have on Benjamin...

1871 - census - at Syarns Yard, Bridge Street, Llanllwchaiarn - RG10/5616/40/2/9:
Elizabeth Morgan, Head, Unmarried age 40 a Wool Picker born Newtown
Martin Morgan, son, Unmarried, age 15 Feeder in Factory born Newtown
Benjamin Morgan, son, Unm, age 9 born Newtown
Bathsheba Morgan, son?, Unm, age 2 born Newtown.

i truly was going to give up on Charles ...and had to put that in as i was getting so frustrated with bdms....wouldn't it be nice if they could make the years longer ..instead of 1934 for a marriage ..be great if it was 1974 and death's to 2010.......just a wish of mine haha......
but instead of have a team of wonder woman....you do know that a lot of people are 2 embarrassed to ask for help.....it may sound really silly but its true as you read there questions you can almost feel what they feel..
sometimes so sad....others like me soo happy
thank you ladies. there will be more on the morgans ...im just enjoying the meal on this lot..lol :-D :-D :-D ;-)

haha Spiderlegs and I'm one of those embarrassed people. Usually my ancestors are too hard to find, very weird histories. I just keep plodding, but there are some wonderful people on here willing to help.

Cheers.

spiderlegs,

Have noticed on the 1871 Census, that Elizabeth was unmarried, do you know for sure if David was her husband and father of all the children? Maybe someone who has access to the 1861 Census, can check and see what is recorded, on the 1881 Census it says Elizabeth is single.

Just thinking maybe the children have different fathers!!

spiderlegs & MEgirl, I was the same, but I thought what could I lose, they can only get more frustrated at me, as in the 1st few threads where I got a number of helpers getting a bit hot under the collar!

spiderlegs Report 8 Jul 2011 13:21

yes i have thought of that..
but it wasn't unusually for fathers not to be around i had some one in wales had a look for me and he also found that Elizabeth not married and living with her parents at one stage....cant remember when... but her name was Morgan and his name im sure is Charles Thomas or Charles David Thomas....as 1st son named Charles...could be just a fluke...
but i haven't been able to find any thing about him ...so i cant really do much
until i finish the children as there might be a clue with one of them....and the children were John 1848 but this could also be her brothers child as her brother was john Morgan...... martin next b 1854 or 1855.then a William b 1860 i cant find...Charles b abt 1865 then Bathsheba b abt 1868..
Martin and Ann also had a daughter called Bathsheba born in Queensland somewhere b abt 1895 could not find a death on her any where and someone suggested that the death might not have been registered...and there son is called Thomas Charles......now that's a big clue for me suggesting that there fathers name just might be Charles Thomas....... what do u reckon Mejoy75
more fathers the merrier haha (terrible Murial)

:-S more confused then ever :-( :-D

Vera
that is her....this is the info that was sent to me from a chap in wales who was visiting the cemetery as his family came from there...he saw my add and answered it ...nice man..
these are Elizabeth age 33 ..her parents but im trying to find out as well as a lot of other stuff about the Morgans
i have a death cert of martin ..elizabeth's son but no fathers name
when i applied for the death in Queensland i knew the mother's name but not the father.so i went to find my past..it was free then to search... not like now))
and i found a David ..lots of Thomas so i put david on the form when it said fathers name...stupid me .i didn't realized until it was 2 late what i had done after i posted it... when i find his real name i will rectify it....
so no dramas there....Mejoy75 thinks the children could have different fathers
and she could be right....otherwise why isn't he around..but then again he could have been on the road and come home to roost every now and again ...
mmmm we will never know....any nice English researchers around
thanks vera..nice name :-D

Err. I'll read that again! There is a chap on Ancestry who has connections with your family. May be the one your referring to. Seems like a friendly fellow. I'll take a look and see what he's got.

spiderlegs,

It looks like all the children took their mothers surname. Hopefully, Vera will have some luck with the family on Ancestry.

Are you saying that you amended the death certificate of Martin, and put David as his father! If so, how did you do that?

Just for ref 1881 Census, it's free to check

Mejoy75
yes
but the fathers name is not David ..as i had thought in the first place...
im now sure that its a possibility that its Charles.......or like u said ..all have different fathers then we will never know...wen i was fist researching my family it came up as David on find FIND MY PAST ...so silly me,, went and ordered the death cert and put David down as father .i should have left the form blank........i know , but we all make mistakes, just some worst then others ....the reason im saying that its not David .. ..as there isn't a name David running thru this family...no child is named David any where...Thanks for the other info on john...
i have the birth of Bathsheba...but no death and some one in my family (living) said they thought Bathsheba died young.. i have never been able to find a death of her..qld bdm also said that the death might not have been registered..
and now i have a death of john...i knew he had gone to war....so thats all coming together
except elzabeths husband...i will search the census and see if there is a charles thomas...on an earler census other then 1881..... thanks mejoy75
great work.
:-D
Mejoy how do i order a certificate on GR..

MeJoy75

MeJoy75 Report 9 Jul 2011 10:40

Further to John's death, you can download his record to your computer, the records have where he is buried and other details. His Service No. is 2868

What certificate are you going to order?

If it's birth, marriage, etc you are best to go to General Register Office they cost £9.25 incl. postage. G.R. charge more

Couple of trees that stand out on Ancestry

vlcw01 and 100wishs

Both seem to concentrate on Martin

One has Elizabeth Thomas married to John Morgan the other has her with Thomas or David Morgan.

100wishs has two photographs added - one of Martin and another of headstones of Martin and Ann Jones

Can pass your e mail onto them if you have not already had contact.
