Hi everyone I have just recieved a letter from my Aunt Kath unfortunately she has once again got distracted even writting a letter but she has sent me this her father was Francis George Martin born 1894 in it looks like the parish of St Michael ?(can't read the parish part properly because it is faded,) Limerick in County Limerick his mother was belived to be Elizabeth Rose McElroO.she wasn't sure of the spelling.On Francis George's army papers it states he enlisted in the Royal Field Artillery in 1909 while the regiment was in in Limerick when he was just 15 years & 1 monthold , he was medically dischared in 1916, Elizabeth Rose was put down as next of kin on his army papers her address was given as ,looks like 14,Exmouth Rd? or Emerald Rd ?Limerick it isn't known if there were any brothers or sisters, Francis was posted to Sheffield England where he met & married Annie Henson my aunt can remember an Aunty Lizzie & Brendan Mcelroy

hi once again sorry I forgot to say on this very faded British army paper I have belonging to Francis , it says Francis George 's religion is Church of England so i imagine he was brought up in the Church of Ireland

According to the tree on ancestry, Charles Martin was born 1851 in bagshot hungerford England the son of Charles Martin & Mary Preston. He 1st married a Martha Henderson 1879 Newcastle, Mary Janes was born there in 1880 but there a baptism for her in St John C.O.I. 1880. Martha died in August 1888 Limerick and Charles married Eliza Rose in Oct of 1888

Eliza Rose was 1st married to a John Donaldson 1873 Limerick. Her parents Thomas Rose & Mary Daly

1901 Census Ennis Co Clare (Turnpike Road Barracks) shows;

Chas. Martin. Sgt.Major Clare Militia aged 49 yrs married laborer b. England
Wondered where he had gotten to...!!
