i am look for a lilian may abbott we belive she had abrother called jack , lilian got married to a henry buttler we have there marriage certificate they got married in lancster, burnly, but her parents name our not on there as they did not belive in her mariage. it says she was born 1900 but we have been told that she lied about her age. and we have been told that she came from martlet derbyshire, and that parents where german but that is not for sure, dose any 1 know how i can go about this. :-)

The fact that her father is not named on the cert is probably because she didn't know him

Details on marriage certs are given by the couple marrying - the parents have nothing to do with it

If she doesnt name a father then it may be she didnt know his name .Have you looked for her on any census

Have you made any searches on freebmd for a birth for her?

When and where did she die?

Surely her father's name had to be on the marriage certificate even though he did not believe in her marriage?

Lancaster was the name of the other groom.

Have you found her on 1911 census ?

she got married on the 26/02/1921
and she had no parents names on there,
she said she was born 1900
but my nan said she told her that she lied about her age.

Until her birth year is established, looking for her on a census is pointless

where did they live? have you looked for deaths for them ?

cant find her on the census

Please answer the question about her DEATH

If she lied about her age when she married...then her age at death will probably be incorrect too

she died in littlehampton west sussex she was in a home around about 1988 havent got death cert yet she had a son who was very quite about it all as we seem think that he had a different dad to the other children and he took alot of things but he is dead now so he cant help and he told his wife nothing

Theres no births reg for Derbyshire.in that time frame 1900-1909
