Don't worry - it's often worth checking these things - you never know what went on!

John Collins on above baptism is a Labourer.

Try looking on freebmd for Marian's death

Lynski

Lynski Report 27 Jul 2011 10:06

No, Elizabeth Ann's father is just listed as deceased.

For the baptism, John is a labourer and there are two other children on the same day - Charles and John??

Elissa

Elissa Report 27 Jul 2011 10:08

That's a shame. I don't know of any brothers so I can't tie that up yet, but it might come in useful in the future.

Elissa

Elissa Report 27 Jul 2011 10:13

Are there any children born to Alfred and Marian?

Lynski

Lynski Report 27 Jul 2011 10:19

Have to keep in mind that Ann Elizabeth Collins might not be Elizabeth Ann Collins?

I just saw the reference to Tower Hamlets as a possible link?

Elissa Report 27 Jul 2011 10:19

Also I've found a baptism for Marian Green on IGI in 1823. Please could you have a look to see what her father's profession is listed as?

Elissa

Elissa Report 27 Jul 2011 10:20

Yes, the baptism is one to remember and if other info supports it then we can start to believe it more.

Lynski Report 27 Jul 2011 10:22

John Green is a farmer

Elissa

Elissa Report 27 Jul 2011 10:24

Not quite a gentleman then.

Elissa

Elissa Report 27 Jul 2011 10:28

I've tried looking on the census for Elizabeth but as I don't know when her father John died I don't know whether he ought to be on there with her or not. Elizabeth Collins seems to be a very popular name in London unfortunately!

Elissa

Elissa Report 27 Jul 2011 10:34

Just to clarify John Humphrey is listed as a chaser on both marriages, and Alfred Thomas is listed as an engineer on both?

Lynski

Elissa

Elissa Report 27 Jul 2011 10:45

That could well be a possibility.

Just to add to the confusion, Alfred's marriage to Marian was definitely his first wasn't it. He is listed as a bachelor?

Lynski

Lynski Report 27 Jul 2011 10:48

Alfred is an Engineer on both marriages.

John Humphrey is listed as a Chaser (deceased) on the marriage to Marion Green.
John Green is listed as a Gentleman (deceased).

John Humphrey is listed as only deceased on the marriage to Elizabeth Ann Collins.
John Collins is listed as only deceased.

Lynski

Lynski Report 27 Jul 2011 10:50

Yes, he was a bachelor when he married Marian.

Just a thought, have you tried Search Trees on this site? There are 3 other members who have Alfred Munt (1828) in their trees.

You could contact them to see if you have a connection?
