How do I nudge this post up so I am not posting it twice and get told off?

Valerie

Valerie Report 11 Aug 2011 06:49

Hi .... it's a NSW birth 2223/10.

I notice John W & Primrose W Walker also had 2 other daughters;
Jane R Walker b1904 and
Barbara E Walker b1907.

I notice 'Ryerson Index' shows Primrose Walker d 8/1/1954 at Sefton age 83yrs ..notice in the SMH 11/1/1954.

Maybe a 'look-up' of the death notice will give a few clues.

Hi Amanda,

Okay so this is the correct birth entry:

Name: Dorothy M Walker
Birth Date: 1910
Father's name: John W Walker
Mother's name: Primrose W
Birth Place: New South Wales
Registration Year: 1910
Registration Place: Burwood, New South Wales
Registration Number: 2223

Just set out a bit differently from NSW BDM.

Unfortunately there are a lot of Dorothy M Walker marraiges...fairly common name

AmazingGrace08

AmazingGrace08 Report 11 Aug 2011 06:51

From say 1930 to 1940 there are at least 7 possibles..I'll list them and then check deaths

AmazingGrace08

AmazingGrace08 Report 11 Aug 2011 06:55

No luck....doesn't appear to be there so she may still be alive or registered after the BDM search close off date.

Do you have any clues as to where she may have lived, anything at all?

Death and Funeral notice for Primrose:

SYDNEY MORNING HERALD - MONDAY 11 JANUARY 1954

WALKER - Primrose Watson - January 8, 1954 at Sefton. Dearly loved mother of Jean, Barbara, Dorothy and Tirzah, aged 83 years.

At rest

So at least we know Dorothy was alive at the time of her mother's death

Manderella Report 11 Aug 2011 12:04

Hi Grace,
Thank you very much for all the info.
I am very confused.

No one can find a birth record for the Tirzah mentioned in the obituary of Primrose.

I have a marriage record for her to Kenneth Hugh Woods 1943 Ryde, NSW reg 13007 and an electoral roll record in 1936 NSW, Parramatta, Ryde West.

(Essentially I am trying to find details about a Tirzah R Moran of Chermside born c1936. I have found letters from her dated 1996 refering to Aunts Jane and Barbara, also an Aunt and a Great Aunt Tirzah.
I believe her mother must have been Dorothy M Walker so I am trying to find out who Dorothy married so I can work out Tirzah Moran's maiden name).

So the marriage of Dorothy M Walker I am looking for must have been about 1930. And her children would have been Tirzah R b 1936 and son Roger born c1933.

Maybe the area on the above electoral register will give an indication of the are for Dorothy.

Thank you so much for all your help and anything further.
Amanda :-D

Hi Grace,

Me again!

I have just found out some information from my senile Mother so it is not reliable.

She says that Tirzah R Moran is unmarried so possibly her Mother Dorothy M Walker married A Mr Moran??

There was mention of a sister Rachel born c1938 too.

thanks

Thanks for that Helen, all help and advice appreciated. :-)

Thanks Helen,
I've kind of lost wind now having had an official email from Genes Reunited because I've been reported for asking about the same person twice.

Being a novice to this ,I thought I was helping by posting info I'd been given to further my search further.

I am sure us novices are tiresome to you experts (I don't mean this directed at you Helen) but being reported for wasting your time ,kind of feels like being bullied by those that know the ins and outs of researching.
I really appreciate the help that is given on the'Community'. I just wish people who are such experts could be a little more forgiving towards us novices.
Thank you for all help given.

HI Amanda, I'll keep hunting and see what I can find!

You can message me if you want me to check up other stuff, happy to help.

However I don't think Dorothy married the Moran I looked at in the death registrations as the parents didn't match.

Helen if you found anything else can you advise what you sent through by PM (just so I don't repeat any work you have done)

Cheers

Ahh silly sytem just crashed..

Okay first of all I would think that the Tirah mentioned in the death notice was born after 1910 and therefore will not be shown on the NSW searches as they display only to 1910.

I'll keep going see what turns up!
