no that not him the age he got married to emma was either 24 or 29 cant really make out it look like a 4 but could be a 9

emma moss was born 1888 as she was 22 when they married the married 1910 i dont know y on the cenus says they were married 4 years and william was born either 1886 or 1881 as the his age is either 24 or 29 on the marriage cert its not very clear

Rebecca, on the 1911 census you posted on 11 August, the William on there was born 1873.

Are you now saying that it's the wrong census?

yes its hard because dothery(great nan) christina and ruby are write but the ages for william allen and emma are wrong as william was29 or 24 when he married in 1910 and emma was 22 in 1910 so they would of been 23 and 25 or 30 in 1911 do it has 2 be wrong i no they put 4years married but i understand that as 2 children were born aout of wedlock so they could off lied about how long they were married but the ages r wrong

Rebecca, it's most likely the ages on the marriage certificate that are wrong.

William may well have chopped a few years off his age for the marriage to hide the fact he was quite a bit older than Emma. That sort of thing frequently happened.

Merrily chasing James Beer back in time, but not seeing any connection with Allen or Moss.

Emma, the only way to be 100% sure you've got the right people is to buy the marriage and/or birth certificates of the people you know for definite to be your direct ancestors, i.e. your grandparent.

Do not base your research on family knowledge - sadly it's not always reliable as stories get distorted over time.
