I have sent Janet a pm.

I have found a parish record image of the 1878 marriage on a public tree on Ancestry hoping Janet has not already ordered the cert.

Not only does it state Richard Payne as father but also as a witness..not uncommon for a parent to be a witness as I have found though.

I thought there was perhaps a mix up with the registrar with names as Thomas was illiterate? Or illegitimate...though I have not been able to find a possible 1854 birth reg.

I haven't sent for a certificate yet, but this has been driving me mad. There is a tree match with Sarah Perfect, I have trid to make contact but have had no reply yet, perhaps they are on holiday.

Not sure if I needto start a new thread, so here goes on here, why can't I find a birth date for my husband's brother, Jonathon Ongley, 12th August, in London 1979, I have his sister Kerry born in March 1976 also in London, my husband only found out these siblings last year, hope some one may be able to help.

You say that you can't find a birth date for Jonathon but you have listed one, 12 Aug. 1979.

Thanks for saying I had the wrong year, I have now found him, which means he hasn't been telling the truth about his age, it makes him younger than my 2 sons. thank you.

I have sent my PM again, but it seems you have found him anyway! Well, we all lie about our age sometimes but usually make it younger!!

My husband has spoke to his brother, his birthday is defiantly August 1979, could the records have been recorded wrong somewhere along the line ?

It's very strange.
The images aren't available for birth records this recent, so impossible to check.
Has he never needed a birth cert?

Not unknown for birth dates to be wrong on certificates.

I have 2 which are dated 3 and 4 weeks AFTER the person was christened ! ( and I have seen the actual parish register)

This birth is 6 years later than he says Mike, but as i say not possible to check the image on Ancestry.

The years of 1979 and 1985, don't even look simular, I am still inclined to go for 1979, his dad was 50 when he was born which was 1929.
