I don't know if it's because i am not familiar with the area and this is staring me in the face............but i would appreciate some help please.

I have William Henry Stockton in the 1911 census along with his widow Mother Mary Jane.....
The problem is, i can't find her in any earlier census.

P.S. - There is a William Stockton who fits, on 1891, working away from home as a servant! - Could be him.

Hmm, no i don't think its that one BatMansDaughter.
That family still appear as Benton in 1891 and that Mary (A?) was born on Leeds Yorkshire.
