i thought i had already posted this but may be i never , im trying to find out if i can trace any relatives of a william henry scrase, he is on my fathers birth cert, i dont know anything about him, and my dad never knew him, all we know is my nan hid when she was having my dad, may be she was ashamed or something i dont know, my nan lillian frances parkhouse she was then, was born in 1897 give or take a year, hoping some one can help me thanks

I found a William Henry Scrase born 13 November 1911 in Stafford. Died November (approx) 1990 in Birmingham. However, he may be too young to have been your dad's father.

Glynis, could you confirm again your grandmother's surname at birth?

Your opening post suggests it was Parkhouse, and your father's father as possibly being William Henry Scrase. You then say she was born as Scrase.

It's these little details that help us find the right people.

EDIT - I see Mike's found a Scrase birth that could be her - so how could the father's name also be Scrase (unless distantly related)?
