Could the dates on my great-grandfather birth certificate be an error made by the scotland people site, as it states the marriage on 21st August 1876 in Haywood Carnwath, with Mary's parents named as: William Irvine & Jane Irvine nee Williamson.

but looking at the marriage on 21st August 1874 with the Peter McKay and Mary Irvine, with Mary's parents names as William Irvine and Janet Irvine nee Williamson?

What are the chances of these not being the same person???

Trying to get help with finding information on:

Peter Mackie born around 1855?

His parents are listed as James & Ann Mackie, in the 1861 census, when he was then aged 6, with a sister catherine aged 13. HIs parents are stated as born in Ireland.

The Peter I am looking fir was married to Mary Irvine from ~Whitburn, West Lothian, when they were married in Carnwath in 1876, which I cant find a marriage certificate for them neither, as I am getting this information from their son Peter Mackie b1879 birth certificate.

Any ideas where to look for information would be appreciated.
