Hi Ann,
I think you've got it. Is this from the Mormon site also?
The Thomas Hope 1799 Tyldesley ties in with information I had from another tree but what's the Pedigree bit about?? As well as Peter and Richard, I have Ann (1825) and Henry (1845).

Could you let me know where you got this from please and explain Pedigree if posssible.

Regards
Lynn

Hi Lynn,

It does seem like Charles is the father of "your" Thomas.

I see our Ann has found a likely marriage for Charles and Jane. Looks good, considering:

Hello again Maureen.

My head is now spinning with so much information from all you experts. Charles is unlikely to be the father of Thomas as Charles would only have been around 13 years of age when he fathered him!! Not impossible, but unlikely I think.

Will continue pondering!

Oh my goodness! Sorry-my head spun around with yours. I meant to say that Charles is the father of your Richard.

Thanks for unspinning me a little, Maureen. I think you're right as Richard definitely married Ann Gee and one of their children was Charles (another one!) my great grandfather. Sometimes I wonder why I ever embarked upon the long and frustrating road of family research. It's made easier though by the generosity of people like yourself, Ann, Jonesy, et al. A very big thank you to you all. The effort you put into helping others is very much appreciated

You're quite welcome,Lynn. It's a very addictive hobby-but oh so much fun. :-D

Thanks for staying online and responding to our input!

Best,
Maureen

Just a PS...I think some of the entries Ann posted were from the old Family Search site's Pedigree Resource Files,

Not sure if this link will work:

Thanks again Maureen,

Will try the link. Am still reeling from discovering that my great great great grandfather was called Charles, not Thomas. No wonder I had problems identifying a birth date and making sense of it all. It just goes to show that it's always best to check sources and not simply to rely on information from other trees. Thanks for putting me on the right track!

if you use the search facility on this site lan-opc.org.uk for children of Charles & Jane it comes up with 4 baptisms

James, Mary, Richard and Alice

Thank you so much again lancashireann, you've helped me before. I was wondering how many children they'd had and only knew of Richard and Alice through the other messages I've had today.

It's little wonder I had problems, clearly far too many Richard Hope's at the same time.

I hope that you're well and that Blackpool is bright but not too breezy.

Best wishes,
Lynn
