The 1851 Census for Rosanna's parents is correct, her parents are as on the Tree.I'm descended from the Henry. There is also another sister Mary Ann born c 1848 who was to marry a William Thomas in 1867,also not found in 1851.

Do you know the maiden name Rosanna's mother?

I found this marriage, which is after the birth of Rosanna:-

Marriages Dec 1848 (>99%)
BOOTH Charlotte Wolstanton &c. 17 357
xxxxxx DURBER Thomas Wolstanton 17 357
FROST Mary Wolstanton &c. 17 357
Jude Mariah Wolstanton 17 357
Knight Daniel Wolstanton 17 357
Moody Charles Wolstanton 17 357
xxxxxx Morsley Ann Wolstanton 17 357
SIMPSON Robert Wolstanton 17 357
xxxxxx WEARVELL Ann Wolstanton 17 357

.....so if she was born before this marriage, then maybe her mother died and Thomas remarried so Rosanna may have been staying with her mother's family?

William Report 11 Oct 2011 12:34

Without complicating matters,I have also not found Ann Lovatt's parents Job and Hannah Lovatt in 1851.

Catherine

Catherine Report 11 Oct 2011 12:40

the marriage to Ann Lovatt:-

Marriages Dec 1844 (>99%)
BARNETT Sarah Stoke on Trent 17 174
Davies Hannah Stoke on Tr 17 174
xxxxxx DURBER Thomas Stoke on Tt 17 174
KELLY Martha Stoke on Tr 17 174
LOCKER George Stoke on Trent 17 174
xxxxxx LOVATT Ann Stoke on Tt 17 174
MARTIN William Stoke on T 17 174
MELLOR John Stoke on Trent 17 174

and this death would fit with my theory of a second marriage:-

Deaths Mar 1846 (>99%)
DURBER Ann Wolstanton &c 17 206

William

William Report 11 Oct 2011 12:44

I hold the marriage certificate for Thomas Durber and Ann Lovatt in 1844.Thomas's father given as a Daniel Durber(Carpenter) and Ann's given as a Job Lovatt.
