i'm trying to find out when my great grandfather george gregory died. he was born about 1884 and was living in guisley north yorkshire(now cleaveland) IN 1918, cos his first wife died there, he later remarried, but after that i've lost him, so if anyone can help please do, many thanks silv

Perhaps if you can give us some further info, such as who he remarried? Then perhaps if we can place her death it might help find his.

It might also help if we can get close to his actual birth date.

I thought Guisley was part of Leeds- West Yorkshire ??

in the 1911 cenus my great grandfather is listed as william george gregory, but i think he was known as george. i know that his second wife was called sarah pussey, and i think they were married in 1919 or 1920. i also know that they were living in the chestnut area in 1911 but may of moved north during the war. hope this helps, many thanks silv

There seems to be a daughter born 1932 in Weardale so could be him?

i didn't know about a daughter,but is possible, i know that william george had a son by his second wife, and he was called alfred, i orginally thought that william george was called george because on his son's marriage cert his father is listed as george, the son was called william andrew and he was my grandfether. is there any info on the daughter from the second marriage. many thanks silv

The fathers name on the marriage cert is given by the person getting married i.e your grandfather, so he could say whatever name he knew his father as or make one up completly if he wanted.

Unless his 2nd wife had been married before there is no other birth that I can see for a Gregory and a Pus*
