Please if i could ask for help in finding the mainden name of John Greenhalgh 1786, Lancashire - Blacksmith - Wife

I believe married a lady by the name of Alice and had the following children

James 1820 - Ellen c1823 and Mary 1825-1890

First 2 children born Heaton

Was James christened in Bolton le Moors ?
Or is this not him ?

No maiden name but perhaps it's the right marriage date, which could be checked out on the original parish registers.
With a bit of luck it may list his occupation

I would say John Greenhalgh married Alice Pendlebury........ John died and she remarried John Heaton.

There was always going to be too many options with a common name like Greenhalgh in Lancashire. ( I had an Uncle with that name )

You need to make sure you don't follow the wrong line just because it might fit.
