Julie, what was the event in 1918 that gave you their names and address?

How old were they then?

How have you got back to these people?

What other info do you have on them?

This is very vague - you MUST have more!!

Please tell us ALL you have and we will be happy to try to help.

Thanks everyone

Think this is my potter

I don't have any info about him, just that someone gave me info i gave you on here. Who would be his parents i wonder?

MarieCeleste

MarieCeleste Report 29 Oct 2011 19:50

Julie, please answer the questions asked - where did you get the date of 1918 from, and that address?

I think the info found fits - if it doesn't then you need to say what valid information you already have that contradicts it.

If you have a Potter marrying a Jupp then who were they and when did they marry?

Julie

Julie Report 29 Oct 2011 19:50

If you buy the M/C it will give you their dads name

This is very 'silly Julieann,

"This might be my potter

i have a potter that married a jupp. But not a herbert."

Where have you got the address from in 1918??

What info do you have already?

How have you got back to these people?

I, for one, am not going to waste my time looking for something 'on a whim'!! - Please tell us what info you already have, otherwise, you are 'on your own' !

The 1911 census posted has an address of Gloucester Road, Croydon which ties in with what you posted.

The marriage that Julie found ties in with that census so it all fits together.

To help you in the future - on the top of the front page on this "Find Ancestors" board (just below where you clicked the purple Add Topic button) is a thread called PLEASE READ BEFORE POSTING. You need to have a look at that.

You need to start from what you know to be fact and then work backwards with the aid of some purchased certificates.

Grabbing at straws will simply lead you down the wrong line.
