Hi Bernie

This article states he died aged 80 years - given George & Marion's age it seems unlikely (impossible) they were having children in the late 1820s!

Australian Town and Country Journal, Wednesday 28 August 1907
OBITUARY.
Mr. Edward Draper, an old resident of the Parkes district, died last week, aged 80 years.

From NLA Trove newspaper site.

This arrival fits:
DRAPER Edward 22 Elizabeth 1850 Sydney and/or Newcastle and brother (George, aged 20)

From www.records.nsw.gov.au

Thank you Cherilyn

Will search 1841 for Edward c1827 and George c1830.

You have the marriage of Edward to Angelina GRAHAM in 1867 in Forbes (reg 2410); guess this is your connection. Her name appears variously on children's births as Angilina, Angelina, Wena, Una, Ewena, Euena, Selina, and Hughina.

Chn:
Maria J 1868
Edward Alexander 1872, d. 1962 Parkes
Johanna 1876, d. 1952 Randwick [as DRAPER]
Maria J 1878
Elizabeth Eleanor 1880, ?d. 1974 [as Elizabeth Helen Graham DRAPER]
George Robert D 1884, d. 1967 Parkes
John Albert 1886, d. 1867 Sutherland aged 81

EDIT: John & Johanna and possibly other family at Woronora Cemetery. See http://www.woronoracemetery.org.au/name-search.html

Bear in mind, parents names on death certs are only as good as the informant's knowledge! Marriage certs are much more accurate, given that the info on them is provided by the parties themselves!

So if you don't have it, I'd say Edward's marriage cert would be a good buy. You can use a transcription agent in NSW, often much cheaper.

Thanks Cherilyn

Have asked the poster for more info but as yet has not replied.
Think the best way is to find his relationship to Edward and work backwards.
What do you think?

Ah. Perhaps you should let Tom n Harry know he was 80 when he died so can't be the son of George & Marion whom who originally enquired about. :-)

Found them in 1841:

Edward 14 at Clay Hall farm Walkern, Hertfordshire as S (servant); and

George 12 at Yardley - Hertfordshire as labourer both not listed with parents.

Departure Portsea, Southampton, per Elizabeth arriving N.S.W. via Assisted Immigration Scheme, 18/4/1850.

Edward Draper, labourer living Yardley Hertfordshire, parents George and Jane, mother living at Walkern, C of E, read and write.

George Draper, House Servant living Walkern Hert., parents listed as above, C of E, read and write.

So here are your two brothers, but not matching with your other information as far as parents and area of birth.

Got to solve this one or I'll be pulling my hair out.

;-)
