Hi anyone have any info at all on a Frederick George Jessop? b1895 and or George John Jessop/Ecclestone b 1897 ( a confusing familly) as the name was changed 2/3 times from Jessop to Jessop- ecclestone to Ecclestone ? so on and so forht.

On the 1901 census, which of Eliza's children is the parent of the 5 Jessop children? Is it her son George J?

I think I have confused myself here.
No I think you are right they must belong to George J.

Astra, I was :-S too, but I think it's clear now that the children are George John's as they're with him on 1911.

Thing is, where is he on 1901 and when & why did he change his surname from Jessop to his mother's married name of Ecclestone?

This George is a soldier and is travelling with:

Maud age 13 (hard to make out relation, but it's not child)

So these children certainly match his. His wife on 1911 is AGNES??

He must have gone to the USA before the 1901. I can't find him travelling out on FMP have you had any luck? And why is Agnes suddenly Clara?

Have searched and searched on FMP for outgoings in names of Ecclestone AND Jessop, and am ploughing through the US arrivals.

The children were on the 1901 so perhaps they were sent over later?

The last child was born in 1899 and they returned to England in 1904 so it's a small timescale. It all depends whether they travelled as Jessop or Ecclestone but I can't locate them as either!

Some of the children's births listed in the military section. Maybe Maude is Alice M?
