Find Ancestors

Her parents were John Booth and Mary Whalley. They married in 1897. John was 21 and Mary was 20.
I do know that Mary remarried in 1918 and that John died.
What happened to John and were their any other siblings?
I would be grateful for any help.

All took place in Bolton.
Don't know if he was in ww1

I do know that Mary became a Speakman and the first child from that marriage was born in 1906.

Well on the 1911 image they state that they have been married for six years, no doubt to make the birth of their first child seem "respectable"

so what do you think happened to John.

I can see no other marriage apart from the 1918 one for Speakman/Booth. If the 1911 census is your Mary, it says they have been married for 6 years. THis may well be to cover the age of the daughter born 1906, but suggests one or other of them may have not been free to marry before 1918 (John seems to be single in 1901). So if you are still wondering what happened to John Booth as per your first post, the window for his death I would think is still at least up to 1918.
