Hi this is my first post, i am looking for info on my mother Mary Maloney born 1948 (i think) deceased 1975 and my father William Sheehan born 1945(i think) they were both in an orphanage in Ireland, any help would be great thanks

Hi no don't know where just says Eire, my mum died on the 25th October 1975 in hospital near Nuneaton, thanks

Hi yes i found this was quite a surprise as my dad implied they were dragged to the church by the priest so i was surprised they were married just before my brother was born :-D

Do you have a copy of the marriage certificate then? That would (hopefully) give their fathers names and occupations....assuming they knew them,of course,since you say they were orphans.

Hi, i will go and look for it, we lived in Nuneaton but she died in a hospital outside of Nuneaton, can't remeber the name of the town

Hi the death certificate says Staffordshire and it was Mary Sheehan and had my dad's details on it as spouse

I guess there aren't any Sheehans or Maloneys as witnesses to the marriage?

What was your Dad's middle name?

Thanks for all your help, it didn't give any witness on marriage certificate, my dad's middle name was Dominic, many thanks again :-D

Karen...You may be able to find out info.relating to their respective Baptisms from the Marriage Reg.of the Church they were married in...(Will be on MC..)..check with the Church if they still have the Registers eg Baptismal /Marriage/Burial on site ...The Marriage Reg may also show where and when they were confirmed.
