Go to the site and look at the membership options

http://www.ancestry.co.uk/

Ive just renewed my world wide delux membership 25% cheaper than the price quoted on their site

It might be worth ringing them and asking if there are any special offers or discounts available

If you sub to Ancestry you can click on the persons name and send them a message. They might have more information about your dad

If you dont have a sub to the site, send me your email address and I'll send a message on your behalf

These are just a guess but as you have your moms full DOB it might be worth ringing the Irish GRO and asking if they can help you

The first birth looks more promising? As I said, you have her full DOB and so with these ref, the GRO might be able to check the DOB for you before sending for the certificate?

I'm sending you a couple of possible births for your dad.

If you decide to send for the certificate you need to apply to the Irish GRO

http://www.groireland.ie/apply_for_a_cert.htm

You can apply online using the link above

Edit: Does your dad have any siblings that you know of? Also, do you know if he still living?

Gee

Gee Report 15 Jan 2012 10:40

Karen, this looks like it could be a spelling mistake

England & Wales, Birth Index: 1916-2005
Name: Decklan Sheehan
Mother's Maiden Surname: Maldmey <<<Maloney?

I'll PM you the full details

Edit: There is no marriage listed for a Maldmey to Sheehan, so it looks like your brothers birth....hooray

Ive checked the GRO image and it does look like it could be Maloney for the mothers maiden name

:-D
