Thank you so much everyone for your in put.

The information I have is from my Great Grandfathers Birth Certificate 1887. He too was a Joseph Lund.
His Father Joseph Lund is listed as a general laborer His Mother is named as Mary Ann Lund Formerly Moss. and they are living in Stockton-on-Tees.

The entire family appears is as Lesley posted on the 1891 Census still living in Stockton on Tees.

Joseph Snr C1853 also appears on his Sons marriage certificate in 1910 Stockton on Tees and his profession then is a Striker.

I may have to presume that Joseph (born C1853) is the missing male on the certificate mentioned by safc thank you

Everyone here has given me much food for thought and so I will contiune on.

Thank you once again!

I think is sounds very plausible

Well done Mary :-D

Mary

Mary Report 17 Jan 2012 15:04

OK I think this is him.

Joseph Lund born Oct 1848 V22 P457 in Darrington Yorkshire(Reg in Pontefract) son of William Lund 1824 born Darrington and Ann 1829.
They had son Belford Lund 1856.

Joseph Lund married Jane ward O/N/D 1873 in Stockton V10a 213.
Jane Ward is Sarah Jane Ward 1853 in Hull to John Joseph Ward born 1836 in leeds and Mary A Ward nee Ragg born Norton Durham 1841 -died 1901.

1881 14 Waverley Street Stockton D45 > 14 (Post code TS18 3JH)
Jas Lund born Hartlepool 1852 (Original says Jos Lund Pontefract)
Sarah Jane Lund 1854 Hull
Bey Lund relative 1856 (Belford Lund) Male.

1881 85 Webster Street D39 > 31 (Post code found on google TS18 3EA)
Mary Moss
So very near Joseph and Sarah Jane Lund.

Sarah Jane Ward then marries Michael Murphy Dec 1883 10a 149.
1891 Stockton D41 > 12
1,Pine street.
Michael Murphy born ireland 1843
Sarah Jane Murphy born Hull
Sarah Ann Murphy 1874

1901 the above family in Byker Northumberland
Sarah Ann Lund 1874 now down as stepdaughter.

This would account for there being no marriage for Mary Moss and Joseph and it looks as though Sarah Jane Ward committed adultery.

There is no death for a Joseph Lund between 1881 -1883 so I'm sure it is the same Joseph who is on 1891 census as born in Darlington which should read Darrington.

Another coincidence is there is a tree with the same Sarah Jane Ward married to Joseph Lund son of William.

What do you think guys!!

Where were Joseph and Mary in 1901?

There is a Mary Moss marrying A/M/J 1887 in Durham.

There is only 2 other names Herman Strathman and Jemima.
They are on 1891 census,so who is the missing man??

Lesley,
Moss family in 1881, yes.
Do you think Mary Ann is daughter or grand-daughter in 1881?

patchem

patchem Report 16 Jan 2012 20:29

This could be a marriage for Lavinia using the Moss surname:
Marriages Mar 1904
Moss Lavinia Stockton 10a 109

I think they were not telling the total truth in 1891.
Would be interested in Lavinia's birth and marriage certificates.
Have you found Joseph Lund in any other censuses or his death?

Presumably this is the oldest daughter's birth, so they 'should' be married/together in 1881:
