Hi all.
This really is a big challange,if you choose to acept it.I am looking for information on a Violet Hope born 1896 in Barking/Romford Essex,her parents were Terrence and Ellen,in the 1901 census she was living at 107 Magdelan st,Colchester,and in the 1911 census she was living at 6 dungate st,Dorchester,Dorset,
We know she had two daughters sorry names unknown,and im sorry to say we only heard from other people that she was supposed to have partnered an actor with the surname Green,and also she may of died with her youngest daughter in a flu epidemic in about 1919.
The only bit of other info we have is a photo of her taken in a studio in Canning town london.
As I said and it is a real challange,so if you fine people on here can help in any way,it will make my 82yr old cousin a very very happy lady.

I have but im trying to find this Violet,I have looked for another Violet but she was born in 1903,this Violet that we are looking for is the mystery.

The details on the other thread look to be for the same person to me

sorry guys yes I have just found the past link,all I can say is I just wanted to know what happened to her after the 1911 census,and your rules on here state not to repeat a family,but it is so hard to think of what im writing and not looking back at what ive done[my mistake],sorry if you find me a pain,but as I say sometimes you just get a bit selfish,and you only worry about yourself.keep up the great work you guys do.

Terry you have the birth cert for Violet I take it? and are not just basing her parents on the details from 1901?

the details I have put on here are from my cousin,who I visited today she had the photos of Violet who was her fathers sister,his name was Golden Hope-born 1899,in the photo was her two daughters as written on the back of the photo,and as I said earlier she was supposed to have died,and my cousin wanted to know of whatever happened to her other daughter.

well there is no record of a marriage to Green, and no sign of her on the 1911 not under the name of Hope at least,

Is it a studio photo with the name of the photographer on reverse? that can sometimes help to date when it was taken

silly question but it doesn't have the daughter's names? The trouble is of course that whilst it may say Violet on the reverse it may not be Violet in the photo? are we sure that it is? ( I have photo's that someone scribbled a name on and they got it wrong lol)

If Mr Green was an actor and the photo was taken Canning town, then he was possibly working at the music hall there but that doesn't help with a date unfortunately.

If pushed, looking at the photo I'd say from the child's boots about 1920 but that's just based on a photo I have of similar at that date.
