I was also looking at that death which Gins has posted.

Ancestry has just gone down again but I will keep looking when I can get back on.

Hi Dea, it was their son William however, she doesn't appear to be living with him in 1901.

If he registered the death, there is the possibility that she may have died between 1891-1901.

Do you have James's death cert - who was the informant?

Thanks Gins.... I'll definitely consider that although it's quite a few years out.

she wasn't usually too far out with her age. ages 1, 12, 23, 32, 43 & then 50 through the various census records. I think 50 was the furthest out that I'd found.

She may have died before James (as you say) because she wasn't listed on the death certificate. Her son, William registered the death.

The problem with quite a few of my ancestors and their brick walls is that they have such common names!!

If she played around with her age, this might be worth considering?

Meant to say thanks Dea for looking...I'm just hoping that someone may spot something that I've overlooked.

I'm trying to find what happened to one of my ancestors after 1891.

Her name was Ann Brown nee Aspinall. She was born about 1839 in Shevington, Lancashire.

Her last known address was 129 Woodhouse Lane, Wigan, Lancashire, England, she said she was aged 50 then...lost a few years compared to earlier census records :)

Her husband James Brown died at Cherry Tree Inn, Queen Street, Wigan in 1900.

Did she die before 1901 or remarry? Or have I just lost her?

I can't find her on the 1901 census.

If she were alive in 1901 & living with one of her children, the only children of hers that i can't find in 1901 are Thomas Brown (b.1872 Orrell) Richard Brown (b.abt 1877 in Orrell) and daughter Ellen (born 1858 in Shevington). I lost track of Ellen after 1871.

Any help or suggestions appreciated.
