3. Witnesses at the wedding were – Frederick James Painter, William Lawrence (see 1911 census) and Alice Maud Darch (Emily’s sister)

From Death Cert:

From 1911 Census we have living at 79 Smyrk’s Rd, Southwark, London:

However, I can find no info about Abraham's parents or spouse!!!! The only other thing I think I know is that he was probably Jewish (JT Barnett was according to the family disowned for marrying outside of the faith.

HELP.

Abraham Barnett (1849) widow carman born Medgate Brother in Law of Joseph Simmonds
2. Joseph Barnett (1886) carman, born Bermonsey Nephew of Simmonds

I tried to find parents through Joseph Simmonds, if his wife was Abrahams sister thought I might be able to make a connection that way. What was Joseph Simmonds wife's Christian Name?

Mary

Mary Report 28 Jan 2012 18:11

Emily Peters married Henry Gregory 1876.
So she was Catherine Peters sister.

Isabella Barnett married Joseph Simmonds 1888.
She had brother Abraham.
Parents Joshua Barnett 1816 - 1873 married Nancy (Mary) Benjamin 1844- 1898?

I think parents of Joshua were lazarus 1790 and Ann 1796.

Thank you all. I have the Emily Peters links and I know Abraham's BiL was Joseph Simmonds but I do not know his wife's details. Up to now I have been struggling to get the info above on Abraham and so did not explore the Brother and Sister in Law further. That will be my next few days task once I have tied in the above. Thank you all for your great help.

Bet you cannot tie down Daisy Rumble see below!

Married 18 Sep 1909, Daisy Rumble, 25 years, spinster, no profession given, lived at 35 The Hale Tottenham, father John Rumble, Provision Merchant.

Gustavus Hughes,26 years, bachelor, Sergeant 1 Mountain Battery Royal Queens Artillery, 4 The Broadway White Hart lane Tottenham, father Alfred Hughes (deceased), type founder.

However, I can still find no trace of Daisy with and John Rumble!

Tracey
Thanks for having a go,
A real mystery how we can't find a surgeons parents.
I have AG Labs from 100+ years before.

Simon

Simon

Simon Report 29 Jan 2012 20:40

The Ag Labs are not the Heatleys.

The Heatleys were easy to find back to John 1813 as they were all in Manchester.

John Heatley wasn't born in Manchester and I doubt to an Ag Lab.
My grandmother told me that there was a doctor in the family.
He died penniless somehow as well
A mystery is John.
