Gins you've cracked it- that's the one one I was looking for, born in Longnewton Stockton on Tees
Did she have anyone with her, I'm also looking for her sister Mary who also went walkabout ?
The family would love to know what happened to them - is there any US Census info available for them ?
thanks

It's an absolute brilliant outcome. I wasn't confident of finding Mary as well because it was thought she may have married before leaving the UK

Thanks again everyone for your efforts

It would be nice to know what happened to them after arriving in the USA -or am I pushing my luck

Thank you everyone for your time and effort in resolving my query

It seems that Agnes went out the US via Quebec in 1911 and returned to England to escort her sister Mary to the US in 1913
An excellent result
Many many thanks

Hi Gins
Do you think you could have another look at the US censuses for say 1910 and 1920 to see if you can come up with anything on the Mrs Hartnell that Agnes and Mary were to link up with
In 1911she lived in 16th Street Racine Wisconsin - I've been trying to find out which Electoral District it is in but without success
I know the surname only isn't a lot to go on but here's hoping
Thanks Bazz

Gee Report 1 Feb 2012 17:27

I cant see anything!

Ive looked at a shipping record and Agnes is going to:

1306 Sunhill Ave
Racine
Wis

The women who she is going to is named as Mrs Humble as far as I can see

Bazz

I would suggest the next step is to buy Agnes and Mary' birth certificates to get the full DOB. With this info we stand a better chance of finding them

Bazz Report 1 Feb 2012 19:31

Hi Gins, thanks for looking at it again
I think I may have misled you because the address you quote must be the one that Agnes was heading for on the 1911 trip
It is on the 1913 trip that they were both heading for 16th Street Racine, the address given for their friend Mrs Hartnell, and I was hoping that she may have been at the same address in 1910 and possibly the 1920 Censuses
regards Bazz
