Mary Report 12 Feb 2012 14:40

Ann I think you should have tied this in with your other thread about this family dated 10/11/2011.

There is info on there that would have saved all of us a lot of time.

IE they are down on 1851 census as Jucker, but no husband with Mary.

Goerge William Tucker married in 1870

Do you have the 1852 death cert ?

Puzzled as to why you think it is the right one as no mention of "Ferris" on marriage cert or on the sons marriage cert

MarieCeleste

MarieCeleste Report 12 Feb 2012 13:01

1851:

TUCKER, Elizabeth Head Widow F 69 1782 House Holder Dawlish Devonshire
TUCKER, Mary Daughter-In-Law Married F 38 1813 Tailor's Wife Dawlish ?? Devonshire
TUCKER, Elizabeth Sarah Grand Daughter F 10 1841 Cardiff Wales
TUCKER, Mary Jane Grand Daughter F 8 1843 Dawlish Devonshire
TUCKER, Henry James Grand Son M 4 1847 Harcross Devonshire
TUCKER, George Richd Ferris Grand Son M 1 1850 Dawlish Devonshire
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Registration District: Newton Abbot
Civil Parish: Dawlish

Address: Cockwood, Dawlish County: Devonshire

The grandson may well be the child who died 1852. Perhaps he was sent to stay with gran for a while? Although it says Mary is a Tailor's wife I think the original says Sailor's.

William's deceased and George may be at sea.

EDIT: Probably not the right family, on the 1841 Elizabeth's husband is alive and is called Henry.

AnnMarieG

AnnMarieG Report 12 Feb 2012 12:57

no, couldnt find either george or william on 1851

MarieCeleste

MarieCeleste Report 12 Feb 2012 12:56

Mary - if someone was of full age (no actual age given) then the year of marriage is invariably assumed as the birth year.
