I have a Dorothy J Rimmer born 1922 Birkenhead married to William Houghton in 1946 Birkenhead.

Dotothy's parents were William Rimmer & Jeanna Jones I can't find a marriage for them(was hoping it would give parents names)

Apparently Jeanna's dad was from Coethpoed near wrexham he was a choir master for an all girls choir ??

Any help getting started would be appreciated

Did you get the parents' names from Dorothy's birth cert?

Are you 100% sure of the mother's first name?

In any case, only the fathers are named on marriage certs

No I got her name from Dorothy's granddaughter,
I was hoping for the marriage of William Rimmer & Jeanna Jones but I do realise her name could have been Jean ?? Jones.

I don't have Jean's fathers name with out them I can't go anyfurther back

Purchase the birth cert would be your best bet

Possibly the best thing to do would be to order the marriage certificate for William Houghton and Dorothy Rimmer and also the birth certificate for Dorothy Rimmer.

The Marriage cert will give you Dorothy and William's fathers names and the birth certificate should give you the names if both Dorothy's mother and father.

There are no marriages that I can see for a William Rimmer to a Jea* Jones

Best bet is to confirm mother's name by buying Dorothy's birth certificate.

Could be that Jones is the maiden name but she may have been married previously

Hi the marriage between Alice Gaenor Jones & William Lewis Rimmer is the right family
So the census is also correct

Can I ask Please if anyone can find anything about Thomas & Rebecca Williams parents I've tried to find them in 1881 census also tried to find a marriage for thomas & Rebecca
my ancestry membership ran out today so unable to get access to 1891 census, just wondering if they had anymore children
