So how accurate is the tree on Ancestry

Gives mother as either Smith or Green

I did say the trees seemed a little confused ;-)

some documents that are attached to members of the family seem completely wrong to me, so a bucket of salt might be in order

I don't think that the tree is at all helpful as the details seem to come from the indexes rather than actual certificates.............. so the births given may have been made to "fit" !!!!!!!!!!!

This is what it says for the mother of the children.

mary (caroline) green (smith)
Birth 1885 in new forest, hampshire.england
Death 1937 in shackleford, surrey, england

Angela, as Maureen has said can you give us an idea if your Dad's siblings were older or younger than him please? Do you even have a rough idea of when and where any of them may died please?

Can you tell us the names of your paternal grandparents please?

dads siblings some older some younger.no idea what his mothers maiden name was she was mary ann died guildford surrey 1957.dads dad died befor i can remember.but the name walter keeps coming up.
