Ah, now that's a useful lead, Mary, thank you again.

I don't have the birth or marriage certificates for Gladys, I will probaby end up ordering them as I'll need at least one of the above for confirmation. But if someone else already has a certificate ...

Mary

I assume this:

1901 Emma Billinger has daughter Alice born Serivelsby 1888 but Emma didn't marry until 1892 so is this Alice who could be mum to Harry July 1907?
Alice Owen J/F/M 1888 Horncastle 7a 533.

is from the 1901 census, could you please provide the full entry?

On another tree I have found Rose Owen 1883, daughter of Elias & Emma, as well as the Alice you found, both prior to marriage thus potentially both using Owen as surname.

Many thanks

Keith

Rose Emma Owen born 1883 reg Boston daughter of Emma??married July 1904 Boston Lincs 7a 911 to Ernest William Mallett 1882 Norfolk died Boston 19/2/1969.

Rose Emma Owen died 12/2/1960 Boston Lincs.

If she was Emma's daughter before marriage you would need proof,I can't see her on 1891/1902 census.
