ps this is one of my biggest brick walls that and Andrews birth date that I have not been able to solve in the 6 years I have been doing the family tree.

What was the relationship of Jane Fletcher on the 1891 census - if she had given the census infomation she may have known Blanche by her original name? Could there be a clue with this?

I know I tried to find her in 1881 Scotland census but couldnt. I did find John Downs living with a family called Onions

EDIT - so Blanche MUST have been in Scotland by 1882 - and depending where she met the children's father - i.e. France or Scotland maybe earlier

No Andrew (my Gt Grandfather ) was born c 1882 in Scotland. Thats going by the census have never been able to find birth date/cert for him

Have not looked at family history for a while so a bit rusty. Thought I might have a go at the brick walls just in case something new pops up .

Where was andrew Born? 1891-ish. you say she didn't arrive until later than that

I suspect Victorine is her surname (in the tree Gins found)

Thats the name that he has for public view, not sure if he has more details as I only did a free search as Im not a member
