My mother is a widow twice over her name is Enid miller and was married to Philip in 1976.In Nottingham prior to rhat she was married to my father George younger Dalton Martin in 1947, In Mansfield. She was born in 1923 but i don't know if it was in Notts or Derbys and her surname was Till,and she had a brother Alec Herman, her mother's name was Eunice but i don't know her fathers name. he died about 1937 in blackwell I believe her dad came from a large family around 8 children that's all i know could someone help me find out her Fathers name and if possible her mother's maiden name thank you

I came across this old post as I am researching the names of the men from our parish of Blackwell who lost their lives in ww1. George Till born 1893 is featured on our war memorial . I publish a newsletter each quarter 100 years on, giving news of those who died and details of their families and what was happening in the parish at the time. On the 100 th Anniversary of their deaths. a candle is being lit in the parish church of St Werburghs in their memory. George died in France in April 1917 , just 3 months after he had enlisted.
Descendants of the family may contact me through email at [email protected] and may see the newsletters at ww1blackwellparish.blogspot.co.uk . George will appear in our next newsletter but if any family have a photo of him, we would be grateful to receive it, and include it.
We want to preserve the stories of our local men who served and of those they left behind.
