Hi Pam

I have a workhouse book and didn't take much notice of Ulverston until you mentioned it. There is a paragraph in there which I will photocopy for you. I contacted Barrow cemetery and William is definitely not there. I will contact the vicar at St Mary's to see if they are all together. I have found the death entries in the local paper for Alice, Emma, William and Ellen. I have also found school records for six of the children, although some of their dates of birth have been listed wrongly. If you pm me your address, I will post these off to you.

Thank you so much for all of this work I have sent my address details on the other personal reply Is there any way we can find out more details as to whether Sydney Street was a hospital in 1929 I have looked at some Ulverston web sights but it does not say much about 1929
William Stow died on 30th July 1911 in North Lonsdale Hospital Barrow age 47 and his home address then was 37 Devonshire Street Dalton in Furness Thanks again Kind regards Pam

Hi Pam

I have just received a reply from the cemetery. Unfortunately, they are all in public graves in Dalton Cemetery in areas which the maps were lost in a fire. As they are in public graves, there would be no headstones.

The details are as follows:

ALICE STOW
Age 10 months of Cardigan Terrace, Dalton was buried on 3 July 1900 in grave 1670-A

EMMA STOW
Age 6 months of 33 Devonshire Street, Dalton was buried on 19 December 1908 in grave 620-N

WILLIAM STOWE
Age 47 years of 33 Devonshire Street, Dalton was buried on 12 August 1911 in grave 57-A

I only enquired about these three initially, but have just replied asking for any burial details for Ellen.

I have posted your other information off to you today too.
