Find Ancestors

These are the Facts I have so Far.
Annice Riley b)1855 in Foulridge, Lancashire, married Whitaker Parkinson b) c1855 in Colne, Lancashire.
They were married marchQ 1876 Burnley. I found them in 1881 Census, no Problem. they had 3 Daughters at this point. Mary b) 1877, Annie b)6 Nov 1878 & Bap 26 Oct 1879 in Colne and Emily a new Baby.
In 1887 in Haslingden they had a Son Whittaker and in 1891 they had a Daughter Laura.
There may be more Children but can not be certain.

So Far so good, My Problem arises as I looked them up in the 1911 Census on Ancestry[ during the Free Access this weekend] and discovered that Annice was now a Widow and living with her are 3 Adult Single Daughters plus 2 Grand-children with the Surname Houghton.

Firstly I tried to find when Whitaker Died. Have tried spelling his name various ways with but can find no death date for him.
I reasoned that as Mary was not with them that she is most likely to be the Mother of the 2 GrandChildren living with Annice. But can not find a Marriage or Death or anything else for that Matter.

Would really appreciate any help in finding a Death for Whitaker and a Marriage and possible death for Mary Parkinson.

Interesting Jax ,had not considered he had left the Country, maybe she was not a Widow after all, but he had left Her. :-S

Although he went in 1889 I cannot see him coming back so maybe she lied in 1891 and said he was still here??

Have no access to 1891 Census could someone please look up Annice Parkinson and find out what her marital status is?

I cannot find him on the Ellis Island site .... yet he said he was going to New York

The only death for a Whittaker Parkinson that I can see on freebmd is this one ...... which must be that Whittaker born in 1887 to James and Jane

Now I dont know much about Baptisms as I have only been to one...but does the father have to be there? or back then did they care?

I know my gt uncle was baptised after his mother married but she used her maiden name and a made up father (luckerly it was'nt one of her brothers names)

I also have a 3x gt grandmother baptising one child in june 1837 with her first husbands name and six months later another child with my 3x gt grandfathers name so I doubt whether the first husband was around at the time

So if he did do a bunk in 1889 could the younger children be fathered by an unknown person?
