Darren, I have people I can't find on 1911 but others who have Anc have been successful. It's all something to do with the transcribers and where GR got their transcripts from compared to where others did. |

Oh boy. I didn't spot the second page before I went off looking for this place. No nun in the family then. Hey ho. I had fun looking for it though. :-D |

I took a look at the census both sides of the Convent. There are no numbers which is a real pain but properties include The Poplars, Rustic Cottage, The Lodge, Ashleigh, Sherwood and Earlswood. |

Now...this thread has brought me to another long unsolved mystery...? WHY can I NOT find my Grandfather and his parents/siblings ANYWHERE in the 1911 Census? |

Ann, Darren has already confirmed that the 1881 George and Emma is the correct family. |

I agree with Mike. There is another Lily born Hinckley 1878, much more likely to be her. I know birth years can be out but 5 years is an awful lot, especially as there is an alternative Lily and given the consistent spelling variation of Lillie which she uses. |
