Appreciate all your help guys........
All the above info has been very helpful - particularly the Hannah Kirby - Poole/Merrick info.

This shows a connection between Hannah Kirby and Ellen Nash.
(1981 census)

I believe that Ellens maiden name was Kirby & that Hannah & Ellen were sisters .

I still cant find a marriage for Ellen Kirby or Ellen (any surname) to Charles Nash - we know that they were man & wife in the 1871 census aged 20 & 23. this is a puzzle. ( or at least they said they were married)
If possible - I really need to be able to identify / confirm this
( without buying the cert).

I also know that in 1873 they had a daughter Anne & 1874 - they had a son called James Nash.

\Any ideas?

My main question

Saying they were 'married' is no proof that they ever troubled the vicar
