Robert - the information that Gins posted IS the marriage record that you'll get on the certificate, only difference being that it will be inserted onto a green certificate.

Robert

Robert

Robert Report 5 Jul 2012 19:37

To MarieCeleste, It was my great grandfather who married Catherine, and he was called Walter Halliday.
To Gins, I did see it, thanks, have ordered a marriage certificate, as it should tell me more info. As for who has rrd'd you, not sure!!

Robert, I have posted the marriage details for the 1914 marriage....its on page one

Have you not seen it along with the census info?

:-S

MarieCeleste

MarieCeleste Report 4 Jul 2012 19:52

Robert, forgive me if I've missed something but was the Halliday that Catherine married your great-grandfather? If so, what was his name?

Robert

Robert Report 4 Jul 2012 19:46

Ok, so i've ordered a marriage certificate, because lets be fair, knowing my family they will take ages to get back to me about any info I want.
Again, a big THANKS to everyone who has made suggestions above. I wouldn't have even thought to order a marriage certificate. As has been said, family info can be unintentionally misleading. It certainly has been a little so far, with my having gone to Dublin to research more on the information that she was born in Ireland!!! Grrrr, ha ha. I could have drunk more Guinness whilst there, ha ha!!
