I'm trying to trace two brothers, James and Arthur, on another thread.

I wonder if anyone can help me to eliminate this family from my search.

Can you find any of this family after 1901? Marrying, dying etc Anything.

HI

Is it your thread or are you helping someone else?

ChristinaS Report 16 Jul 2012 17:35

I'm helping someone else Gins, but this absolutely doesn't go across anything else that's been mentioned.

The brothers being looked for on the other thread were named Hughes. They were clearly called something else pre the 1911 census, so I'm looking through all possibilities.

Gee

Gee Report 16 Jul 2012 17:41

OK I see, but wouldnt itbe better to post it on the other thread?

Take this the way its intended, helpful. Looking at the layout of your post above, I think you need to adjust your settings

You can go to Tools and compatibility to reset them.

I've removed it now, but I did originally have this on the end of the other thread. Trouble is no-one looked at it. I think it's often a problem, that when a thread becomes quite long. no-one new joins in.

You're right. It hasn't come out properly. I posted a thread just previously to this one asking how to Copy & Paste. Roy - Porkie Pie replied and showed me how. He has now also shown me how to avoid the spaced out problem for future attempts. Here's hoping.

Hope its helped, but just watch that Roy ;-)

Just a little joke

PS, where is the thread?

Hope you don't mind me reposting the census in an easy to read format. Also, useful to see how FMP have transcribed it - might give ideas for what else to look for.

Don't know if this is connected:

London, England, Electoral Registers, 1847-1965
Name: James Youd
Electoral Year: 1929
Parliamentary Division: Lambeth
County or Borough: Lambeth

Living at 11 Hanover Gardens, SE11 with Mary Ann Elizabeth Youd

or this one:

County or Borough: Lambeth

Living at 9 Tate Street with Elizabeth Maud Youd and William George & Eliza Hyde.

Mm, that could be the son, James, couldn't it.

It's certainly a very rare name.

Gins - I've just noticed that you asked for the whereabouts of the other thread.

Take a deep breath now.... If you can explain how I can attach the connection to the other thread, I will do so.

MarieCeleste, what can I say - I think you must have found one of them there.
AND you set my census out properly. Thank you.

Reluctantly, I suppose I should now eliminate this family from the possibilities.

Christina

Is that the address bar? When I right clicked on it, I didn't get the option to copy.
