Mark STILL hasn't explained what 'link' he's talking about..........he is by no means new to asking for help, so should understand the importance of clarity

Mark,
If you are trying to relate 2 families, then you 'just' work your way back with both families until you get a connection (or not).
That connection could appear in 1898, 1798, 1698 or whatever, so there is no point in going a long way back with one, and not looking at the other.
How far back are you with both?

MargaretM Report 26 Jul 2012 18:08

I understood that the 1698 Francis Frith was Mark's ancestor but I could be mistaken.

If he is Mark's ancestor then the only way to connect him to The Francis Frith is to trace The Francis Frith's ancestry back.

patchem Report 26 Jul 2012 16:34

Is Francis Frith born 1698 one of your ancestors or one of The Francis Frith's ancestors?
Thanks

Derek

Mark..the best I've got is Francis son of Francis ..Dronfield 27.10.1700........and later Francis son of Francis ..Chapel en le Frith 05.08.1776..........THE Francis Frith was born in Chesterfield and was a Quaker..so unlikely to appear in Anglican Parish Records............

I've already posted a fair bit of that Reggie

Mark - none of us are aware of anyone's circumstances - I asked you to return and look at your opening post - would have been good if you'd acknowledged that rather than just changing it without saying anything - we ll make mistakes and will no doubt continue to do so - we are all here and willing to help you - just ask

If we all dleted our posts because we made a mistake the boards would be empty.

You could have, at least, looked at it after posting.

The photographer Francis Frith wasn't born until 1822 so the thing to do is trace his family back to see if he links to your Francis Frith.

Mark

Mark Report 25 Jul 2012 14:23

I see Mark has changed the number to 1698 without any comment or apology.
