MarieCeleste Report 21 Aug 2012 14:11

Dea, you are (as ever!) quite right - I'd misread the census and thought George b 1901 was the son of George b1847. Of course that was his grandfather.

I'd better go and find LK and make an appointment ........

Dea Report 21 Aug 2012 08:31

Abraham and Selina would have been children of George and his wife, Selina, who died in 1894 aged 40.

Surely, Selina is more likely to be George's Aunt , not his sister?? (although the age is a little out)

You want T-15051 image 401 of 5072
It's not clear to me if 400 or 402 is back of his form - they're both essentially blank anyways.

There is no occupation listed, he seems to be alone. The town he had lived in looks like "Smiley", "no relatives" is written in the column of person to visit.

The word "DEBARRED" is stamped next to his name so it looks like he was refused entry.
