How have you got back to him?

Susanne

Susanne Report 24 Aug 2012 08:21

have found a birth register listing for son George Christopher Wren 25/05/1907 Ecclesall Bierlow, West Riding Yorkshire. I have list of his 7 bros & 1 sister. My relative says the family memory knows they "all" came from Yorkshire but she's not got any other information. George William Wren's wife was Lilian Elizabeth (we think) and he had a brother James William Wren who married Hannah E Wren (maiden name: Kilgour, 1st marriage to Hill then to Wren). So interwoven I've got lost. Have deleted other entry as requested. Your help is so very much appreciated.

I am not sure where George Christopher comes in if you are looking for George William ???

You say you have a list of 'his' 7 brothers and 1 sister - who's siblings are these please (i.e. which George??) and can you post them for us?

Please can you help us to help you by telling us how you worked back to to George William

Is one of his children your direct line?

And it is vital that you provide some date info

ErikaH

ErikaH Report 24 Aug 2012 09:09

George W married Lilian in 1921 in West Ham

It is unlikely in the extreme that George Christopher was his son

To help find George William as a child, can you please let us know the names of his brothers and sister.

Do you know for sure that George Christopher Wren was the son of George William? Is this the same George Christopher Wren who died 1973 in Redbridge, Gt.London?

Does anyone have the marriage certificate for James and Hannah (as this would give his father's name)?

Just noticed, you beat me to it Dea and Reggie.

George Christopher Wren married Kathleen Hill 06/02/1937. Reggie is right about birth & death details for George Christopher Wren. It's really his father George William Wren married (?) Lilian Elizabeth but don't know any more about them. Tks again. Sue

What documentary evidence do you have to support the suggestion that George Christopher's father was George William?

ChristinaS

ChristinaS Report 24 Aug 2012 09:23

The 1921 marriage is George W. Wren to Elizabeth R.L. Grubb

Susanne

Here's what I've got.
Kathleen E Hill (b.21/09/07 Poplar) married George Christopher Wren (b.25/05/1907) on 06/02/1937.
George William Wren (father of GC Wren) was married to Lilian Elizabeth ?? but no date avail. He died in Ypres WW1. Then his brother (James William Wren) lodged with & married Kathleen E Hill's mother (Hannah Elizabeth Hill) in 1919 at W. Ham, Essex 4a 812. Told you it was a mess. :-)

If George C is your relative's 'line', buying the birth cert would be his/her best bet as a basis for factual research
