I can't see an appropriate death for Joseph.

As they don't seem to appear on the 1871.......did they not move to Scotland by then?

Sorry to be such a pain, one last query! Are you 100% certain you have the right William in all cases? I am sure you do, as you have researched so thoroughly.
Who registered his death? Just wondering about how knowledgeable they were. I wonder where the family are after 1861. Might be only he ended up in Scotland in view of occupation. - I can see they moved around a bit, one child being born in Malta.
