Could some kind person help me find information on Thomas Herbert Hall ? born Ackworth 1885, and his wife Constance N. Believe that he emmigrated to Canada around 1905. I found him on a passenger list 1908, with wife Constance N. who was said to have been born in Derby about 1885. I also found them on another passenger list with daughter Grace R. 1914 and son Robert R.1915. (both born in Canada) family seemed to be centred around Montreal. I think that Thomas and Constance were married in Canada, but I'm not able to find marriage record in Canada or UK. Would like to know Constance's maiden name. Tom Hall was an artist of some renown in Canada, working for the Canadian Pacific Company. He died in 1972. I couldn't find any death notice for Constance.
Any help would be greatly apprciated, Brian

I wonder about this one, though area might be a bit random! Constance has been missed off the first entry.
However, it might not fit with emigration records you have.
Marriages Dec 1908 (>99%) ATKINSON Albert Scarbro' 9d 735 COOPER Louisa Scarborough 9d 735 HALL Thomas Herbert Scarbro' 9d 735
Marriages Dec 1908 (>99%) WARD Constance Nellie Scarbro' 9d 785
There are quite a few Constance Nellie's born Derbyshire.

I think this is a red herring, but for completeness I am putting this as it is almost certainly the Constance Ward who married in 1908. Trying to find them 1911 to exclude.

I am beginning to wonder if that marriage might actually be a possibility.
However, this is likely to be her 1891 - no sign of a Dudley!!

The guy in Margee's census is an artist [y.o.immig left blank]
1911 Census of Canada Home / 1911 / Quebec / Montreal St. Antoine / 35 St. Antoine ward / page 58 43 564 Hall F. H. M Head M Mar 1885 26 44 564 Hall Constance F Wife M Aug 1886 25 [addy=57a Coursol]
http://data2.collectionscanada.gc.ca/1911/pdf/e002074482.pdf
He's listed as Hall, T.H., artist, 57a Coursol in 1911 Annuaires Lovell de Montréal et sa banlieue[=suburbs] http://bibnum2.bnquebec.ca/bna/lovell/
EDIT Rue Coursol still exists in part -it's a couple of blocks SE of Rue St-Antoine, but it no longer exists at the E end around Rue Berri and Rue St-Andre, which is the bit where the Halls lived.

safc, Margee, Brummiegan, Gins, Londonbelle, Alviegal,
Thankyou all so very much for your time and help...and so quick !
Brummiegan, I will pursue the Scarboro marriage lead. 9d735 and 9d785 was a good catch that I had missed. Even tho there seems to be a conflict with 1908 passenger list.
Londonbelle, the 1954 passenger list tie in, to Dudley Ward was a good catch too, that I missed. Tom Hall's parents were indeed Henry Louis and Harriet Hall of Ackworth.
Thankyou all, again, for your extra pairs of eyes and your minds on this search.
Brian

Good luck Brian. I hope I haven't led you up the wrong tree! But I suppose I would be tempted by that marriage too if it were me. Out of interest, what date did they travel on in 1908? Jan
