What a tangled family!!! Peter you have some untangling to do but I reckon you have three families in one....John and Caroline; John and Esther (bigamous); and John and Esther Legit!!!!! No wonder he died in his sixties he must have been wprn out!!

Thank you again for all te help yesterday - it has filled in another blank in the jigsaw and given a few leads for the future.

Alas, you can't help with the next problem due to the fact that NZ has few records on line and ridiculous privacy laws as to the release of documents. I now have a person who has appointed his son in law as executor (in 1950). Unfortunately I don't know who the son in law married as I can't find a marriage - I don't know the name of the presumed daughter and I don't know if it's her first marriage or not. Nor do I know the date of birth - it' means going through microfiches one by one....still, at least it will keep me occupied.
