Why enlighten them? Why not let them keep doing it until we get rid of them? ;-)

Hi Gins

I just got the same message, I think it warrants a thread on the topic don't you .....just to try to put a stop to the reporting.

It would also let the reporters know that they are wrong to keep doing it ...and they could possibly be thrown off Genes.

Do you want to post the thread or do you want me too.

suex :-D

Here is the reply from GR regarding posting about other sites (remember someone had Rrd the opening post here for mentioning Ancestry)

Dear Gins

Thanks for your email

If a member is unnescessarily reporting posts we do monitor this. Anyone who is delibrating disrupting the boards by reporting posts unnecessarily is only putting their own registration at risk.

We do not mind if Ancestry and Find My Past are mentioned on the boards, but we do not allow discussions about them or details of subscriptions or offers. We also ask you not to compare them to Genes Reunited.

Kind Regards,

Alex S

Oh Gins!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :-) :-)

Have to say I am not a "texter"....I try and speak proper English as my better half says or as I say, I try to use correct language, spelling and grammar! I am a scientist at heart having dropped the languages as soon as I could and the humanities even sooner :-)

but occasionally, btw, fyi and - God forbid L8r creep in ;-)

Whatever...Malcolm, I almost feel quite sorry for you - ha ha ha (to quote you) .... :-D

Malcolm

I never professed to be perfect and spelling was never one of my strong points.

I was however taught good manners and you sir or madam were not.

I have not had a reply from Genes yet...it would be nice to know once and for all what we are allowed to say and not say :-S

sue

Edit spell check applied....no spelling errors were identified :-D
