Evening I think you are right Flip just concentrate on one at a time have gone from askingabout 1 Aunt THEN finding out all this!! :-) I am very very grateful for ANY help with research. with the information i have been given go away and study it THEN start to make a tree on the Dewings :-)

Yes Patchem, I wondered about that - everything else appears to have been registered in Greenwich. Elizabeth may not have been one of the children who died though, that's why I was trying to trace the grandparents to see if the missing children were with them - although I can't see her on later census but I haven't traced the maternal grandparents with any certainty.

My confusion about the death I posted was the place - Maidstone.

Looks like Mary Dewing, on the 1911 census as d-i-l was married to John Thomas, this is the christening of one of their children shown on the census:

Thanks for the PM, yes you're right it's quite a confusing family. I think you would need to investigate individual family members to see which children born during the period relate to which parents.

There's another possible birth after the 1911 census to Dewing/Jones, in mid 1911 they started recording the mmn & I can't see another Dewing/Jones marriage in the local area.:
