I think so, Fugazza is Italian. The Owen's are now Prussian.
They all changed their names.

That's just my dad's side.

My husband often says which name do you want today. Now we have a new one. Oh nan....

Lynn :-D

It's been a pleasure, lots of fun for the gang unravelling this one! We always need a bit of luck though - if they hadn't been living at Daisy's address in 1911 I don't think we would ever have found them.
:-D
Looks like you have an interesting family to research!

I will get certificate.

Thank you....Thank you....

I have been searching and searching....I couldn't understand why they did not exist anywhere. I kept saying I can find people I never met, but someone I did isn't there.

I even went to Bruce Castle museum, and apart from one entry in 1909 for a Robert Owen in Chesnut Street there was nothing. My dad insisted there was a big family but I couldn't find them.

All I can say is WOW!!!!

Blessings

Lynn :-D :-D :-D ;-)

I think that evidence is pretty overwhelming don't you? But I would suggest getting the birth cert for Ann Puschke to double-check.
Good luck!

So Florence Ashby seems to be a definite link between 'your' Ann Owen, and the Puschke aka Owen family that Brummiejan discovered. :-)

Lynn Report 25 Oct 2012 21:36

Also my Grandad used to say to my mum my nan was german. We just didn't know what he meant.

This is making sense.. My nan's birthday (Ann Owen was Aug 1883) and a witness on her mariage certificate th Francis Fugazza in 1909 was F Ashby. :-D

Lynn, the above is my theory, but I do advise caution!
It all hinges on this: the address Daisy Webb gave on her marriage cert is 42 Welbourne Rd. The family at this address 1911 are those you see on the previous page. As you can see, the father Robert is a cabinet maker and has put 'alias Owen' on the entry.
I have a feeling it might well all hang together, but I am biased, so others can judge!

For what it's worth, I think Brummiejan is right , and the Puschke family is the 'Owen' family.
