Hello not sure if anyone can help please. I have this gentleman born I believe in 1883 and someone else believes he was born in Dehli, India. His father was Arthur Charles Clark a Labourer in 1910. I have this information about his father from Charles' marriage cert. He marries a lady who later married my grand uncle. When Charles married Jessie on 17 April 1910 at the register office in Medway, Kent their address is given as 42 St Peter Street, Rochester, Kent. Charles is given on the marriage cert as being a Private in the Royal Marines Light Infantry. Jessie then marries my grand uncle Arthur Neville John Bryant in 1922. On their marriage cert she is given as a widow. Charles was 27 when he married Jessie in 1910. Can't even find a death for Charles. |

Oh my goodness, how clever are you, I would spend an age and probably still not find this information. Thank you so so much. Do you think Charles' parents were Indian? Also you mention the Mills children in the 1911 census as being adopted but the last child Solomon is given as a visitor. I must look now on the census again to see if it gives any further mention of these children. I'm amazed at the information you've found. I can put this in my tree now, but my fuller tree is on Ancestry. I know you have found a lot for me but would it be too much please to ask if you could look for a death for me for Charles. Also is there somewhere I can look to see if the whole family came to England from India? |

Hiya Jan, this may well be him as they were living in Kent when they got married and Jessie then went on to marry my grand uncle also in Kent. Well found, thankyou. It fits in between the dates he and Jessie married and Jessie marrying my grand uncle in 1922 when she is given as a widow. |

1901 not sure of parents relationship if any to your family but this looks like Arthur Mills in 1901? |

I'm not sure about the Mills children either but it definitely shows them on the 1911 census as being adopted and obviously looks like Charles and Jessie adopted them. This is a strange one. I have Charles and Jessie as having a couple of children, Charles Frederick Morton Clark (Morton was Jessie's maiden name) born 1911 and died 1993 and also a Kathleen L Clark born 1913 but I have nothing else on her though. |
